Broadridge Launches DLX for Tokenization and Digital Assets

Broadridge Financial Solutions Inc. has announced the launch of DLX. It’s an end-to-end infrastructure platform for tokenization and digital assets. It helps financial institutions operate across tokenized and traditional markets through a connected operating layer for on-chain and off-chain activity. The platform is launching with capabilities to connect to the DTCC Tokenization Service through Canton and other networks. Broader use cases will be announced later.

More on DLX

DLX builds on Broadridge’s Distributed Ledger Repo (DLR) capability for collateral mobility and securities financing. DLR processes more than $350 billion in daily activity in thousands of transactions. With DLX, Broadridge is extending its tokenization infrastructure into a broader, multi-asset platform. It covers issuance, trading, settlement, servicing, custody, governance, and distribution. The platform supports asset classes including bonds, equities, funds, private markets, and money market instruments.

Tokenized Asset Lifecycle

DLX uses a modular, multi-chain architecture to support the full lifecycle of tokenized assets. Participants can issue and distribute their tokens and also participate in markets for tokens issued by others.

Different financial market participants can use the platform in different ways:

  1. Issuers can mint, issue, service, transact in, and distribute tokenized financial instruments.
  2. Banks and broker-dealers can connect issuance, trading, transaction orchestration, settlement, servicing, custody, and market infrastructure workflows.
  3. Asset managers can tokenize and issue funds and investment products on-chain, automate lifecycle processes, and connect with institutional, intermediary, and wealth management distribution channels.
  4. Institutional investors can access and transact in eligible tokenized products, including tokenized funds, equities, fixed-income instruments, and other financial assets.
  5. Wealth management firms can integrate eligible tokenized products and on-chain market capabilities into their existing advisory, platform, and client service models.

By connecting these participants through one platform, DLX reduces fragmentation across the tokenized asset lifecycle and supports new distribution models.

Institutional Orchestration Layer

At the center of DLX is an institutional orchestration layer. It brings together tokenization, smart contract services, trading, and execution workflows, settlement, books and records, custody, and wallet infrastructure. It also connects with digital asset markets, payment rails, compliance providers, custodians, and distribution channels. It lets firms integrate tokenized asset activity into their operating models without managing fragmented on-chain infrastructure themselves.

What Broadridge Says

Horacio Barakat, Global Head of Digital Innovation at Broadridge, said tokenization is becoming more and more important part of financial markets as they become more programmable, connected, and continuously available. His comments stress the main purpose of DLX: helping financial institutions move their operations on-chain without giving up the controls, connectivity, and operating models they already depend on.

Flexible Custody Options

DLX supports self-custody, third-party custody, and hybrid custody models. It gives clients flexibility in deciding how they hold and administer their assets based on their business strategy, risk framework, and regulatory requirements.
