Pepperstone Appoints Former Block Executive Caitlin Walsh as Head of Corporate Affairs

About the Hiring
Walsh announced on LinkedIn that she recently joined Pepperstone to lead its corporate affairs function. She described Pepperstone as one of Australia's most successful fintech companies. One that has built a global presence over the past 15 years. According to Walsh, now, the broker serves clients in more than 160 countries and keeps its headquarters in Melbourne.
Yet, she said she still has much to learn about trading. Walsh explained that she was attracted by Pepperstone's mission of making professional trading tools and market opportunities accessible to retail and professional traders. She also thanked Pepperstone CEO Tamas Szabo, Andrew Housden and Clara Crombie for the opportunity.
Walsh also spotlighted one of her first projects at Pepperstone. The company has partnered with the upcoming FourNTwenty Legends Game through Pepperstone Crypto. The initiative supports prostate cancer research and lets supporters purchase personalised virtual jumpers for AUD 25 while contributing to the fundraising campaign.
Who is Caitlin Walsh?
Walsh joins Pepperstone after serving as Head of Corporate & Policy Communications for Asia-Pacific at Block. There, she advised senior executives on reputational risk, corporate communications, and policy matters in the region. She also led communications around Block's acquisition of Afterpay, managed messaging during major organisational changes, and worked with governments and regulators on payments policy.
Before that, she spent more than four years at Square. There, she built the company's communications and government relations functions in Australia. She led media engagement, worked with policymakers on payments reform, supported CEO Jack Dorsey's communications, and helped establish Square's presence in the Australian fintech market.
Before entering the fintech industry, Walsh served as Senior Media Adviser at the Office of the Premier of Victoria. She managed media strategy and communications for government initiatives across technology, innovation, trade and industry. Earlier in her career, she held communications and media roles at the Transport Accident Commission, the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, The Police Association Victoria, 3AW Radio, The Age, and Maurice Blackburn Lawyers.
