TradingView Adds Moody’s Credit Ratings
TradingView has added Moody’s credit ratings to its platform. Now, investors can access ratings from Moody’s, S&P, and Fitch from TradingView’s bond analysis tools. The addition gives investors a broader view of credit risk. Since each rating agency uses its own methodology, assumptions, and rating scale, their assessments can differ. Comparing them can provide more context when evaluating an issuer or bond.
Credit Risk
Credit ratings help investors assess whether issuers and debt instruments can meet their financial obligations. With Moody’s available alongside S&P and Fitch, TradingView lets users:
- Compare ratings across agencies
- Identify where ratings agree or differ
- Analyze issuer-level and issue-level credit quality
- Track rating changes over time
TradingView has also organized ratings into a common credit-quality framework: Highest, Strong, Adequate, Speculative, and Distressed. It makes cross-agency comparisons easier and keeps the original agency rating visible. Chart labels and tooltips also show the agency name, rating date, and issuer outlook where available.
Moody’s Ratings
Now, Moody’s ratings appear directly on bond symbol pages. The current rating is shown in the page header with ratings from S&P and Fitch. Users can click a rating to view more details about the agency’s assessment. For historical analysis, users can go to Profile → Risks. The section plots Moody’s ratings with S&P and Fitch for:
- Long-term issuer ratings
- Short-term issuer ratings
- Long-term issue ratings
Issuer and Its Debt Together
TradingView has also added Moody’s ratings to issuing companies’ stock symbol pages. Users can open the Bonds tab to view the issuer rating with its debt securities and issue ratings. It connects the company’s overall credit profile with the credit quality of its individual bonds.
Compare Ratings
Moody’s is also available in the Bond Screener. Users can use rating columns and filters to compare credit quality across bonds. Also, they can narrow their search using credit criteria and find instruments based on different agencies’ assessments. It brings multi-agency credit analysis into the bond discovery process before users open an individual bond.
Ratings in Details
Users who analyze bonds directly from a chart can also find Moody’s ratings in Details. The Issue rating widget brings together available ratings from Moody’s, S&P, and Fitch. It gives users quick access to credit assessments without leaving their current workflow.
Availability
TradingView has also made the same Moody’s rating data available in its mobile app. Users can access issuer and issue ratings, compare agencies, and review rating history while on the go.
Wrapping Up
Adding Moody’s completes another step in TradingView’s expansion of its fixed-income tools. Investors can compare credit ratings from the three major agencies in one place.
