Georges Assi is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Sigma Lending. It’s a fintech lender that he founded in July 2023. The company provides working capital solutions to small and medium-sized businesses in the UK through technology-enabled underwriting. Alongside this role, he also serves as the Founding Partner of Naviter Capital. It’s an investment firm specialising in private credit markets, which he co-founded in 2012.
Before moving into entrepreneurship, Assi built a long career in global investment banking. He served at Nomura Securities as a Senior Managing Director. There, he held several senior leadership positions, including Deputy Global Head of Fixed Income, Head of Fixed Income for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Global Head of Credit Products.
Prior to Nomura, he worked at Lehman Brothers for almost eight years. During that time, he held key roles such as Co-Head of Fixed Income for Europe, European Head of Credit Products, Global Head of Structured Credit, and Global Head of Correlation Trading. Earlier in his career, he worked at JP Morgan as an Associate. There, he focused on asset swaps and credit derivatives trading.
