Gate Expands into US Equities with 10,000 Stocks and ETFs

Alpaca Powers Gate's US Stock Launch
Through a new partnership with API-brokerage provider Alpaca, crypto platform Gate is introducing Gate Stocks, giving its users access to over 10,000 US-listed stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Qualified users will also have the option to apply for allocations in US initial public offerings (IPOs).
Alpaca is supplying the underlying brokerage infrastructure required to execute trades in these traditional securities. Additionally, Alpaca's backend will handle custody and settlement for the underlying shares backing Gate's new tokenized equity offering, gStocks.
Yoshi Yokokawa, co-founder and CEO of Alpaca, noted that their infrastructure is built specifically to assist financial platforms in expanding into global markets.
For Gate, this rollout signals a broader pivot beyond digital assets into traditional finance, wealth management, payment services, Web3, and artificial intelligence. The integration allows platform users to manage both traditional equities and cryptocurrencies within a single interface. Alongside gStocks, Gate is actively developing AI features aimed at helping retail investors, professional traders, and developers analyze financial markets and manage portfolio assets.
Crypto Exchanges Target Traditional Asset Classes
Gate's venture into traditional finance mirrors a growing industry trend of crypto platforms broadening their product suites:
- Binance: In June, Binance added 7,000 US equities using Alpaca's custody, corporate-action management, and dividend processing infrastructure.
- Coinbase: Revealed plans to build an "Everything Exchange"—a unified multi-asset platform spanning crypto, traditional equities, derivatives, and prediction markets.
- MEXC: Entered the US market via its RealStocks feature, allowing users to gain exposure to US equities and receive dividends through a licensed partner brokerage.
