Eric Lombard Joins Euroclear’s Board of Directors
Euroclear has appointed Eric Lombard as a Non-Executive Director on its Board of Directors. The appointment strengthens the company's governance structure. Lombard is returning to the board after previously serving as a member from November 2022 to December 2024.
Who is Eric Lombard?
Eric Lombard brings more than 40 years of experience across banking, insurance, government, and public financial institutions. He is a graduate of HEC Business School. He began his career at Banque Paribas before taking advisory roles within the French government. Later, he held senior positions at Paribas and BNP Paribas. Eventually, he became Chief Executive Officer of BNP Paribas Cardif. He also served as Chief Executive Officer of Generali France and Chairman of Europ Assistance.
In 2017, Lombard became Chief Executive Officer of Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations, one of France's leading public financial institutions. He also chaired Bpifrance and held leadership positions across several French public institutions. Most recently, he served as France's Minister of Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty. He currently serves as President of the investment company Halmahera.
