Deutsche Börse Group Launches 24/7 Trading for DAX 40 Equities on 360X

Deutsche Börse Group has introduced round-the-clock trading for DAX 40 equities through 360X, its affiliated entity. The extended market model merges liquidity from the core Xetra market with off-hours trading on 360X’s regulated multilateral trading facility (MTF). Current Deutsche Börse clients can access 360X directly and trade traditional DAX ISINs. Also, they may keep using their current Clearstream accounts for post-trade settlement.

How It Works

The new model lets clients trade DAX 40 equities outside regular exchange hours and keep Xetra’s core market processes unchanged. 360X facilitates Request-for-Quote (RfQ) execution during overnight hours and weekends. Meanwhile, Xetra keeps providing institutional benchmark liquidity from Monday to Friday, between 09:00 and 17:30 CET. Its extended retail service on T7 operates from Monday to Friday, between 08:00 and 22:00 CET. Together, services let clients trade DAX 40 equities settled in euros beyond regular exchange hours.

Xetra's Core Processes

The extended offering uses 360X’s RfQ module exclusively for trading standard DAX 40 instruments outside standard market hours. Deutsche Börse Group will keep Xetra’s core processes intact. Standard auction cycles will stay as usual. Closing prices from off-hours trading on 360X will not determine opening prices or affect opening auctions on Xetra. This separation lets clients access trading above regular hours without changing Xetra’s current benchmark processes.

For Existing Clients

Deutsche Börse Group has introduced a simplified administrative process that lets existing clients activate 360X through the Deutsche Börse Member Section. Also, participants may keep their established post-trade connections. All trades will settle bilaterally into their existing Clearstream accounts. It will let clients use their current settlement arrangements.

What Executives Say

Eric Leupold, Head of Cash Market at Deutsche Börse Group, stressed the company's ambition to become the first European financial market infrastructure provider to offer 24/7 trading in blue-chip equities. He explain the group's focus on extending access to specified European equities beyond conventional trading hours.

Carlo Kölzer, Head of Digital and FX at Deutsche Börse Group and Co-CEO of 360X, explained that the integration connects regulated liquidity pools with round-the-clock trading access. It gives clients better flexibility to manage risk when global markets move, including outside European market hours. Also, he emphasised that the extended offering will preserve the integrity of Xetra's core benchmark processes.

Wrapping Up

Deutsche Börse Group's 24/7 trading model extends access to DAX 40 equities through 360X and preserve Xetra's established market processes. By fusing off-hours execution with current settlement arrangements, the group is evolving round-the-clock European equity trading.
