Capital.com has launched direct investing in stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in its European markets. The move expands the broker’s offering beyond its current priority on short-term trading and adds long-term investing to the platform. The new offering covers more than 2,280 stocks and ETFs in the US and European markets, including multiple local European companies.
Commission-Free Investing
Capital.com will offer stocks and ETFs with no commission on investments. Eligible clients can access the new products in almost all of Capital.com’s European Economic Area (EEA) markets. The company said the launch supports its goal of becoming a multi-asset trading and investment platform. The offering lets clients use the same platform for short-term trading and long-term positions.
Execution-Only Investment Service
Capital.com provides the new stock and ETF offering on an execution-only, non-advised basis. The broker does not recommend which stocks or ETFs clients should buy. Clients access the products through Capital.com’s standard onboarding process for new products. Also, the new instruments sit with the platform’s existing research, charting, and portfolio tools. Capital.com said clients can use these tools to assess long-term holdings and short-term positions.
Different Client Needs
The broker said the launch shows the different ways clients use financial markets. Some clients trade based on short-term market views. Others build positions they intend to hold for years. Now, Capital.com wants to support both approaches on the same platform. The company wants European clients to have the choice between short-term trading and long-term investing in one place.
UAE and UK Rollout Next
Europe is the first region to receive Capital.com’s stocks and ETFs offering. The company plans to roll out the products in other markets, including the UAE and UK, in the coming months. However, Capital.com has not provided specific launch dates for either market.
