Bloomberg Launches FX Options RFQ API on FXGO
Bloomberg has launched its FX Options RFQ API on FXGO, its electronic foreign exchange trading solution. The new API brings end-to-end programmatic request-for-quote (RFQ) trading to the buy-side FX options market for the first time. The launch is part of Bloomberg Electronic Markets and builds on FXGO’s recently released Python-API FX Options ticket launcher. With the new API, buy-side traders can manage the entire RFQ process programmatically. They can submit a trade request, receive competing quotes from dealers, and complete the deal without manual steps.
Automated FX Options Trading
The new offering connects clients to FXGO’s multi-dealer liquidity pool through one API. The launch supports vanilla and exotic FX options strategies. Also, it covers deliverable and non-deliverable currency markets. It gives buy-side firms programmatic access across the full FX options trading workflow, from requesting prices to completing trades.
Growing Demand
Bloomberg launched the FX Options RFQ API in response to growing demand from systematic hedge funds and asset managers. FX options volumes on FXGO have grown by more than 58% year-on-year since August 2025. Hedge fund activity has increased by more than 75% during the same period. The growth shows increasing activity in FX options among hedge funds and other systematic firms.

- Spot
- Outrights

It supports multiple currency pairs and tenors. FXGO also provides access to algorithmic order solutions from more than 30 top providers. What Executive Says
Kat Furber, Bloomberg’s Global Head of FX Trading (FXGO), said the company has seen rising demand from hedge fund clients on FXGO. She explained that systematic firms are moving into FX options and want the same end-to-end automation that they use elsewhere in their trading workflows. According to Furber, the new API tackles this demand by letting buy-side firms automate the entire FX options trade lifecycle. Bloomberg also supports this process with access to its global pool of liquidity.
