Standard Chartered and BlackRock Launch New Asia Pacific Multi-Asset Fund
Standard Chartered has launched a new Asia-focused investment fund with BlackRock as the sub-manager. It is the latest addition to the bank's Variable Capital Company (VCC) platform and is called the Signature Select APAC Allocation Plus fund. The fund gives investors a single solution to access assets in the Asia Pacific region.
Investment Across Asset Classes
The Signature Select APAC Allocation Plus fund spreads investments across:
- Equities
- Fixed income
- Liquid alternatives
The diversification generates long-term capital growth and also provides income. The fund combines multiple assets to help manage risk in market conditions and doesn’t concentrate on one type of investment.
Investment Strategy
BlackRock will oversee the portfolio with its Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions expertise. The portfolio will be adjusted across Asia Pacific asset classes. It mixes equity insights with fixed income. The intent is to create multiple sources of returns.
Availability
The fund will initially be available to Accredited and Professional Investors through Standard Chartered's priority banking, priority private, and private banking. Clients in Hong Kong, Singapore, the UAE, Jersey, Malaysia, Kenya, and Nigeria will get access first. Also, the bank will roll out the fund to additional markets.
Why The Fund
Standard Chartered says the new fund strengthens its partnership with BlackRock. Also, it expands the investment options available on its VCC platform. The bank believes combining its investment platform with BlackRock's multi-asset capabilities will give clients a professionally managed and diversified way to invest in Asia Pacific. It also sees the fund as another offering of exclusive investment strategies that is helpful for investors in building stronger portfolios.
Opportunity in Asia Pacific
BlackRock believes Asia Pacific offers attractive investment opportunities because of a strong economic growth outlook. It also sees many Asian assets as being undervalued. The firm says working with Standard Chartered lets it bring its portfolio construction and multi-asset investment expertise to high-net-worth investors looking for diversified returns.
