CMC Markets to Launch CMC Funded Prop Trading Programme

CMC Markets has formally announced CMC Funded, a simulated prop trading programme. The programme will give successful participants an “interview opportunity” through recruitment platform Verichain. CMC Funded will operate separately from the listed CMC Markets group.

$100,000 Simulated Accounts

Participants will receive a $100,000 simulated trading account. Every participant will work with the same account size, performance target, and risk parameters. The programme will cover multiple global markets via a single simulated account. This will also include prediction market events. CMC Funded has not yet disclosed the full list of instruments, evaluation period, profit targets, or drawdown thresholds.

Traders who pass the evaluation will receive a Verified Trader badge. Any performance-based rewards will come from activity and performance in the simulated environment rather than profits from live market positions.

What Executive Says

CMC Funded will not hold client money or execute customer trades. Participants will trade against simulated prices and follow predefined rules. Benjamin Charbonneau, CMC’s Global Head of Retail and Managing Director and Head of the CMC Funded programme, explained that the programme does not promise traders an easy path to wealth. Instead, CMC wants to identify traders who can show consistent performance in a controlled simulated environment. He also said the model lets CMC get insight from traders who show consistency and keep the distinction between simulated trading and live brokerage clear.

Interview Opportunities

Verichain has become CMC Funded’s first referral partner. The AI-based recruitment platform connects candidates with employers in financial services, trading, and technology. Participants who pass the evaluation will receive an interview opportunity via Verichain. However, passing the evaluation does not guarantee employment or placement with a trading company.

It gives the programme a recruitment angle with its simulated trading evaluation. Successful traders could use their performance in the evaluation to access an interview opportunity rather than receive a live trading account from CMC Markets.
