Adam Watson Joins DTCC as Managing Director and Head of Asset Services

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) h has named Adam Watson as Managing Director and Head of Asset Services. Adam will lead the strategic direction, performance, and DTCC’s global Asset Services business modernization in this role.

Role and Responsibilities

Watson will oversee operational delivery, product innovation, regulatory engagement, and client experience. He will report to Brian Steele, Managing Director and President of Clearing & Securities Services at DTCC.

Steele showed Watson’s expertise saying that Adam is a proven leader with deep expertise. Also, he added that he brings a strong track record of driving large-scale transformation, modernizing market-critical platforms, and delivering meaningful outcomes.

Watson said that DTCC safeguards and advances the global financial system. He shared that he was excited to join the firm at a time of significant industry transformation. He was looking forward to working with the Asset Services team to enhance resiliency, accelerate modernization, and deliver even greater value.

Who is Adam Watson?

Adam Watson brings over 18 years of experience in asset servicing, custody, and capital markets from senior roles at BNY and J.P. Morgan.  Most recently, he served as Managing Director in Asset Servicing at BNY. There, he also led Client Insight and Innovation for solution architecture and selling. Earlier, he was Head of Commercial Product and Director. Adam was also acting as Board Observer at Symphony.

His 13-year tenure at J.P. Morgan spanned global custody product management, finance, operations, and middle office roles across the U.S. and U.K. He held the position of Global Custody Product Manager. There, he managed the Asset Owner segment and J.P. Morgan’s Americas fund order routing platform. Watson was also a Finance & Business Management VP for pensions, insurance, and government entities.
