eToro Acquires Zengo to Enhance Crypto Wallet Capabilities

eToro is acquiring Zengo, a prominent self-custodial crypto wallet provider. It will enhance eToro’s digital asset offerings by integrating advanced wallet technology with its global multi-asset trading platform. eToro is the Israel-based online broker listed on NASDAQ as ETOR.

Acquisition Overview

The deal unites eToro’s extensive user base and trading infrastructure with Zengo’s secure, non-custodial wallet solutions. Both companies have a shared focus on innovation in fintech.

This acquisition expands eToro’s support for emerging use cases such as tokenized assets, prediction markets, and perpetual futures trading. It prepares eToro to bridge traditional finance with decentralized, on-chain ecosystems. It gives users more control over their digital assets.

The partnership accelerates Zengo’s global expansion and boosts eToro’s distribution strength. eToro users get simplified self-custody options without sacrificing security or ease of use.

Leadership Perspectives

eToro’s Co-founder and CEO, Yoni Assia, emphasized the shift toward digital, decentralized finance, where users hold greater control. He highlighted self-custody’s rising importance and noted eToro’s resilient business. She noted commodities driving 60% of Q1 2026 trading commissions—nearly 4x higher year-over-year. 24/7 trading in gold and oil amid global macro shifts is fueling it.

Zengo’s Co-founder and CEO, Ouriel Ohayon, underscored the wallet’s mission to simplify secure self-custody for mainstream users. He views the tie-up as a chance to scale this vision worldwide. He also sees it linking on-chain finance to broader investment opportunities.
