
Jenny Zhao Joins Freetrade as New CEO
Freetrade sought a new CEO, Jenny Zhao, since Viktor Nebehaj stepped down earlier this year. Nebehaj, a co-founder, took the CEO role in 2024 after serving as COO. He succeeded co-founder Adam Dodds, who had led since 2016. Freetrade is a UK neobroker.
Jenny Zhao’s Professional Background
Zhao brings experience from senior roles at Farewill and Bulb. She last served at Farewill. There, she held positions of a Managing Director – Legal Services and Board Director, Chief Operating Officer and Board Director, and Chief Commercial Officer.
After Farewill, Zhao took a sabbatical. She had also worked at Bulb. At the renewable energy company, Zhao advanced to the VP International. There, she oversaw operations in France, Spain, and the US. She also served as Acting Chief Growth Officer, Head of Growth, and Head of Marketing there.

Earlier, she served as Client Director and Account Manager at Manning Gottlieb OMD. She co-founded the Personal Social Responsibility Initiative. Her career began as Media Planner Buyer at Total Media NZ.
Zhao’s Statement on Joining
In her LinkedIn post, Zhao expressed honor in the CEO role at Freetrade. She noted joining during a growth phase aimed at simplifying trading for all investors. She thanked Viktor, Natasha, Shahid, Jennsen, Rob, and the full team for their welcome and strong foundation.
