Peter Burrill Joins Standard Chartered as Interim Group CFO

Standard Chartered PLC has appointed Peter Burrill as interim Group Chief Financial Officer. Burrill takes over the role with immediate effect and will be based in London. He will report directly to Group Chief Executive Bill Winters. The appointment comes as Diego De Giorgi steps down from his position as Executive Director and Group CFO.

Peter Burrill’s Journey at Standard Chartered

Peter Burrill has spent over 8 years at Standard Chartered Bank. His internal career path shows a steady rise through senior finance leadership roles. Peter started from Group Finance and moved into broader finance leadership responsibilities.

He has held the Deputy CFO role. He served as Group Head, Finance before that. Also, he was CFO – Group Finance. This experience gives him a strong base to take on the interim Group CFO position> An add-on that he has already been part of Standard Chartered’s senior finance leadership for several years.

Other Experiences

Burrill held a senior finance leadership role at Deutsche Bank before joining Standard Chartered. He served as Group Controller and Co-Head of Group Finance. Peter Burrill started his career at KPMG. His experience there included senior leadership as a Partner, including time at KPMG Deutschland. His audit work focused on global financial services companies, specifically banking and insurance.
