Pavlos Elpidorou was one of the heads of BrightPool Ltd before joining eToro. There, he served as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director.
He originally joined IG/BrightPool in 2019 as Head of Dealing. Later, he progressed to senior leadership roles over the following years. His tenure covered operational management and dealing functions within a regulated brokerage environment.
Earlier Career in the CFD Industry
Pavlos Elpidorou worked at several CFD brokerage firms prior to his time at IG and BrightPool. His experience includes roles at OBR Invest and at Rodeler Ltd, the operator behind 24option.com and 24fx.com. This background adds to his exposure across different brokerage models and regulatory setups.
Context Around BrightPool’s Closure
In 2024, IG Group announced it would take what it described as “decisive action” to close initiatives that were not delivering acceptable returns. It ultimately included BrightPool. Also, it included the voluntary renunciation of BrightPool’s CySEC CIF license. The closure led to several senior executives seeking new roles across the industry.
