MetaQuotes Releases a New Build (4620) of its MT5

MetaQuotes has released MetaTrader 5 (MT5) Build 4620. The update includes fixes for MQL5 stability issues and an enhancement in tick history retrieval. It also introduces 15 new OpenBLAS methods to improve matrix and vector operations.

Enhancements in MT5 Build 4620

These are the main enhancements in MetaTrader 5:

Bug Fixes

The new build resolves stability problems in MQL5 programs.

It fixes the issue of manually retrieving tick history and enhances functionality.

Documentation Updates

15 new OpenBLAS methods for matrix and vector calculations have been added to the MQL5 Documentation. MetaQuotes plans to add more methods in future updates.

What is OpenBLAS?

OpenBLAS is a high-performance open-source library for linear algebra operations. It implements BLAS (Basic Linear Algebra Subprograms) and includes some LAPACK functions. OpenBLAS is designed for efficient matrix and vector computations–commonly used in fields like machine learning and simulations.

Benefits of OpenBLAS Integration in MetaTrader 5

Traders will have the following benefits from this integration:

Multithreading Support

OpenBLAS can use multiple processor cores simultaneously. It speeds up computational tasks in MT5.

Processor Optimization

The library is optimized for various processors, including Intel, AMD, and ARM. It detects the processor’s architecture and selects the most appropriate function for improved performance.

Extensive BLAS Operation Support

OpenBLAS supports basic vector and matrix operations, such as vector addition and matrix multiplication.

LAPACK Compatibility

It allows for more complex linear algebra tasks, like solving systems of linear equations and calculating matrix eigenvalues.

About MetaQuotes

MetaQuotes is a software development company. It specializes in creating trading platforms for financial markets, particularly for brokerages, banks, and exchanges. Their first product, FX Charts, came out in 2000. It provided a platform for performing trading operations and analyzing currency pair quotes.

The MetaTrader 4 (MT4) platform became an industry standard for forex trading. In 2010, MetaQuotes released MetaTrader 5 (MT5). It is a more advanced multi-asset platform that supports trading in various markets, including stocks and futures. Their platforms allow traders to use automated robots, perform technical analysis, and optimize trading strategies.

Summing Up

The MT5 Build 4620 brings critical improvements, especially with the integration of OpenBLAS methods. The market is expecting more OpenBLAS functions in future updates. It will continue to enhance MT5’s computational capabilities.
